Drumming Team Building

As Drumming Team Building prepares to exhibit at International Confex 2025, we caught up with them to discuss their business, and chat to their founder Richard Enion:

Can you tell us more about your company and the services you offer?

Drumming Team Building (Stand A28C) is around 17 years in now, founded in 2008 by drummer and entrepreneur Richard Enion. The mission is simple: to use the power of drumming to connect people.

“Explaining what we do in words can never fully capture the true spirit and impact of the experience we create. It’s about your team, your people drumming together, connecting towards a common goal, a high-energy experience learning something new and creating your very own Finalé as one. I guess that will work for now… :) ”

How have the events you’ve worked on evolved over the past few years? Any trends?

In recent years, we’ve noticed a growing focus on employee well-being, inclusivity, and experiences that create lasting connections - as well as nurturing post-redundancy environments. Our clients seem to be prioritising activities that reduce stress, improve communication, and reinforce team cohesion, it’s really important and drumming delivers this in a fun way. Hybrid and remote work structures have also increased demand for engaging in-person experiences that help teams reconnect - working from home is great, though we need to remember we’re social beings and experiencing something meaningful and fun like our drumming that also connects people is becoming, well, I’d say critical.

What unique experiences or products do you provide that set you apart?

Unlike many team building activities that focus on competition, we champion collaboration. Our drumming experiences bring people together through rhythm, breaking down barriers and foster unity. Every session is facilitated by skilled drummers who are also performing musicians, ensuring that your experience is both professional and inspiring.

“We’ve drummed with thousands of amazing people, some began a little skeptical, others were enthusiastic from the get-go - by the finalé everyone is connected and having a good time!”

How do you tailor your services?

Every organisation is unique, and so are our sessions. We customise our events based on team size, goals, and desired outcomes. Whether it's an uplifting high-energy kick-off, a stress-relieving session, or an interactive way to boost engagement, we make sure the session balances with objectives. The experience is crafted to be inclusive, ensuring that everyone—no matter their role or background—feels part of the rhythm.

What challenges have you faced in the industry, and how have you adapted to overcome them?

Live, in person events are more important than ever and they’re more important than ever right now. People need to be in the same room together, there is an unspoken “law” (if you will) for humans, an intangible benefit of being in the same room as other people.

What inspired you to exhibit at International Confex this year?

People get to meet us and we get to meet people. Humans together speaking about their teams and business in itself is highly satisfying, and as much as we appreciate google ads, seeing if we are a good fit for each other - face to face is the best!

Rich (founder of DTB) is speaking live at Confex so it’s an opportunity to give people real insight into our journey—from Dragon’s Den success to working with teams all over the world.

What do you hope to achieve during the event in terms of networking, brand awareness, or business growth?

We’re looking forward to meeting HR, PA’s, event planners, managers, business owners, whoever might be looking to bring their team together and focus on connecting them (of course with the goal of their happiness AND the bottom line) being supported.

We’re a good fit for people looking for fresh, impactful team building ideas delivered by people (us) who thrive on working with you. We want to raise awareness of how drumming can be a game-changer for organisations, building new partnerships and showing how our sessions stand out.

Can you share a memorable or particularly successful corporate entertainment experience you've delivered?

So many, they’re all memorable, we’re so lucky to be able to meet some of the most amazing teams and people. Sometimes the teams are more introverted, or extroverted, going through good times and celebrating with our drumming and increasing connection and energy or other times it’s following a tough period and the company or team is picking ups the pieces. I/we love every aspect of this industry and the layers of the service we provide - the initial conversations to make sure we are a good fit, then some of the simple logistics, and getting into the dynamics of the team - though sometimes a client just wants us to come in with little to no prior knowledge just deliver an outstanding experience!

What exciting developments or launches can we expect from your company in the near future?

Having worked with a couple of companies on longer term projects, drumming a few times per month throughout the year, we’ve crafted a program that companies can plug into their existing team development and wellness programs.
