Fast Forward 15 confirms charity partner for 2024 event
Fast Forward 15 (FF15), the mentoring programme for women in the events and hospitality industry, has announced ‘Newlife the Charity for Disabled Children’ as the charity partner for its annual event – ‘Beyond Labels’.
The event, organised by this year’s mentee cohort, will take place alongside International Confex and will be raising funds for Newlife, through event ticket sales, sponsorship, a clothing sale and auction.
As the UK’s largest charity provider of specialist disability equipment, Newlife helps children to live their lives to the fullest potential. Every day, Newlife changes the lives of disabled and terminally ill children across the UK. It offers a lifeline for families, providing life-changing and life-saving specialist equipment when and where it’s needed, as well as support and information through their free Nurse Helpline.
Fiona Robinson, CEO, Newlife, said: “There are now 1.7m disabled and terminally ill children in the UK. Alongside dealing with their disability, the sad fact is that many children don’t have the specialist equipment they really need to help them. As a result, they are missing out on life’s opportunities. Here at Newlife, we help thousands of children to get the essential equipment they need to have the improved quality of life they deserve.”
“We are delighted to be working with Fast Forward 15 to shine a spotlight on the needs of disabled and terminally ill children and their families. Together, we’re striving for a better future for the families we serve. We encourage as many people as possible to come along.”
Fay Sharpe, founder, FF15, commented: “I am so proud of this year’s cohort of mentee’s who are creating this 10th anniversary event, bringing this cause to the attention of our industry they have put together an exciting concept. As it’s held alongside International Confex 2024, it’s accessible for all in our industry and will be a great way to support Newlife and Fast Forward 15.”
